GENERAL PURPOSE

Under general supervision, a Cashier/Expediter at Biggies, Burgers & Shakes is the primary point of contact for our guests. Cashiers provide outstanding customer service, in a courteous, and professional manner. The Cashier’s main responsibility is to communicate with our guests to understand their dining needs, share our exclusive menu items and deliver a seamless flow of food to the table or for take-out or delivery. Having that guest first attitude.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

A Cashier performs a full range of table services from the front counter to the dining floor for guests and the Serving staff, including the operation of kitchen tools and equipment. It is distinguished from the Busser position in that the Busser does not provide direct guest services including taking food orders and provide menu options and choices. The Cashier is a key contributor to our business by taking food orders, making shakes and other beverages, and bringing food from the kitchen to expedite speed of service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.- Greets and welcomes each guest in a friendly and professional manner.
2.- Informs guests about any special menu options for the day and menu changes as appropriate.
3.- Suggest food and beverages to the guest and recommends side orders or other options to ensure customer engagement.
4.- Recite menu options and describe cooking and presentation features to enhance our food items and quality in preparation.
5.- Operates a cash register and an electronic ordering system.
6.- Obtains payment, issues receipts, accepts payments, and always thanks guests for their visit. May be required to fill-in for absent staff as needed.
7.- Performs basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor. Coordinates with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
8.- Serves food and beverage to the guest as requested.
9.- Observes guests and ensures their satisfaction with the food and service.
10.- Promptly responds to guest with any additional request.
11.- Maintains proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering drinks, replenishing utensils, refilling cups when appropriate.
